Abstract
Having attended many zine fests here in Los Angeles and finding so many incredible artists we decided to create our own zine about them. We received a grant for "Feminist Zine Culture in Los Angeles" and started our project. The three of us began by selecting zine and zine related artists and asked them to create pages for Super Sisters. We found a group of artists who make courageous, beautiful and intelligent work. It turns out that L.A. has no shortage of strong feminist voices within the zine community. We have discovered that zines are a rich and vast subject so this is just the beginning. We are Maria Carmier MSMU Keck Scholar, Meghan Mai MSMU Keck Scholar and Kim Tucker MSMU Faculty Mentor.
